Soul Train!

Did you know that the old episodes of Soul Train still come on - at least in my area they do! I'm talking about the older episodes where people had the big afros and the bell-bottom pants and those high-heeled shoes! Even the guest singers look great in their younger days! But of course the best thing about Soul Train was the Soul Train Line!

I just don't know what it is but that newer version of Soul Train just doesn't do it for me!

Braiding My Mother's Hair....

One of the nice memories that I have about my mother since she passed away were the times that I braided her hair.

My mother would usually straighten her hair with the hot comb but as she got older she just didn't want to be bother with the hassle.

Now I braid my own hair after I wash it - that gives me time to decide what I want to do with it. So that must be how we got the idea of me braiding her hair - seeing that I wasn't a professional at it.

They are nice memories because I remember us fighting because she would say that I was braiding her hair too tight but after I finished she was all compliments about it being done.
