Fantasia - Give The Girl A Break!

I just can't believe how petty some people can be!

Just in case you have never heard of her, Fantasia won on American Idol some years back.

First I read about her having some financial problems because she was being sued by her own father.

Then I heard a comment from a local radio host that was just in bad taste!

Now I am reading online about the latest news - people are giving her a bad time about her spelling and grammar on Twitter.

I think that this is really just a shame! I think that a lot of people are just probably jealous of her. I really admire her a lot and think people are just 'hatin on her because they are jealous of her.

You go girl! and you just go on and keep doing what you are doing!

President Obama Has Filed His Income Taxes!

I really don't fault the fact that the Obamas made over $5 Million dollars last year. Most of their income came from book sales and not the government salary.

I do have to admit though that I am just a tad jealous although I realize that they have worked hard for their money!

I just wish that it was a little bit more easier as far as money is concerned. Sure I know that there are such things as free money and unclaimed money.

I have been fortunate enough to have received government grant money to help me with my utilities and believe that money was very welcomed!

I have also checked to see if my name was on the list of unclaimed money but it wasn't.

So I'd like to say to the President and his family that I applaud the fact that you were able to make so much money last year. President Obama gives a lot of us hope that anything is possible!

Barack Obama - His Critics!

It seems that Barack Obama, our President, has been getting criticism from "African American supporters" such as the actor Danny Glover!

In my honest opinion I think that this President has done far more better than that last President that we had! I realize that more can be done - especially to help people save their homes from foreclosure but Barack Obama has implemented some good financial assistance programs that have helped some people. Remember the "cash for clunkers" program? If you're in a more charitable mood you could also donate your car to charity as another option.

I remember back during the election when the excitement was in the air because Barack Obama was going to be our first African American president. People turned out in droves to vote! I just remember that whole day as a day of excitement and energy!

I know that we still do have a lot of financial problems and financial difficulties that need to be addressed bur I would much rather prefer Barack Obama over that last president that we had!

Do I think that Barack Obama is doing a good job? Actually yes I do! I mean I'm not a millionairemillionaire yet and I'm not without financial problems (I work at home) - but I'm still glad that Barack Obama is our President of the Untied States!

Barack Obama! Our New President!

Barack Obama has been sworn in as our 44th President of The United States!

Inauguration day was today and I watched as Barack Obama was sworn in! There are reports that there were over 1 Million people there and it surely did look like it! This is definitely a historic day!

What did I think of Michelle Obama's clothing? I liked it! It just seemed to be appropriate to wear the color yellow which some signify as the color of "hope".

Here are some Barack Obama - related links:

Sean "Puffy" Combs Wants To Be The Next James Bond!

Sean "Puffy" Combs wants to be the next (black) James Bond!

You know, I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand there is nothing wrong with aspiring to reach high and higher goals! I'm all for that!

But on the other hand, why can't we (as African Americans) just create our own Bond-like character?

Sean Combs (in my opinion) has come up with a great premise for introducing the Bond-like character and that was for the James Bond character to show up in New York and meet their (African American) counterpart in New York. I like that premise!

I think that it would just be better (and more inspirational) if we just created our own character(s)!

Girlfriends Cancelled!!!!!!

Just heard on my local radio talk show that the show "Girlfriends" has been cancelled!

Even though I enjoyed watching the show I can't say that I'm too surprised that the show has been cancelled. I'm surprised that it has been on for THIS long! Why? First of all "intelligent" black shows don't seem to stay on the air very long.

Secondly the whole "network" thing just reminds me of how abruptly a show can be cancelled.

I was afraid for the show when the CW network was first announced.

I was afraid for the show again when the "Toni" character didn't return. I have read a few accounts of why the actress didn't return to the show and I just get the feeling that it was for a reason not of the actress's fault.

Since hearing about this just today I did some surfing around online to see if I can find out more information about the show being cancelled.

Here is a link to the person /website that first broke the story

Here is a link to where you can boycott the decision to cancel "Girlfriends" or fire off an angry email
